September 2003 marked the 25th anniversary of the establishment
of Okura Hotels & Resorts. Founded on the principle that our hotels
must consistently offer the best accommodation,
the best cuisine, and the best service, Okura Hotels & Resorts
started out as a group of seven hotels. In the years that followed,
the group has gradually expanded.
| 1962 | Hotel Okura Opened in Tokyo: When Hotel Okura first opened its doors to the world on May 20, 1962, the event was the culmination of a dream - Baron Kishichiro Okura's dream of establishing Tokyo's first international luxury hotel to offer all the modern amenities of Western rivals, yet retain the subtle, aesthetic beauty and warm hospitality so important to Japanese tradition. |

| 1972 | Guam Hotel Okura opened. |
| 1977 | Hotel Kajima no Mori opened. |
| 1978 | Hotel Okura Chain has established first with eight hotels. |
| 1989 | Hotel Okura Kobe opened. |
| 1990 | Okura Garden Hotel Shanghai opened. |
| 1998 | Name changed to "Okura Hotels & Resorts" in honor of 20th anniversary. |
| 1999 | Hotel Okura Fukuoka opened. |
| 2001 | Okura Frontier Selection regional brand of hotels is established. |
| 2003 | Hotel Okura Sapporo opened refined. |
| 2006 | Okayama International Hotel joined. OHR expands to 24properties(total 7358 rooms)in worldwide. A joint Marketing Alliance with Banyan Tree Hotels & Resorts is formed. |
| 2007 | A joint Marketing Alliance with Taj Hotels Resorts and Palaces is formed. Name changed from Okayama International Hotel to "Hotel Okura Okayama" |
